Conic Roulette
The Conic Roulette is an aquatic and cultural center on the Delaware River. Its program includes olympic, diving, and leisure pools, as well as retail, gallery, and theater spaces.
Large public spaces, such as the pool spaces, are carved through conic deformation out of a polygonal volume. These large volumes are then figured by ‘poche’ space that includes more private venues such as theaters, gallery spaces and services.
Spread over two levels, the center is both landscape and building. On the upper level, theaters, changing areas, and retail spaces figure open spaces that contain pools. Facing the water is an outdoor theater. On the lower level, parking, and other infrastructure figures an open retail area and spa spaces.
