Conic Disruption

Exploratory drawings of light rays refracting through glass and water yielded groups of intersecting and interacting cones.  These cones were used in a process of formal experiments that transformed solids.  A number of studies disrupting solid geometries with the cones from the drawings of light yielded conic sections as distortions of solid geometries.

The final model, a 3D powder print, was colored to show hot spots where the cones originate and begin to distort the polygon geometry.
